Smiles All Around: Tim Hortons’ Smile Cookie Campaign Raises Nearly $18.8 Million for Charity

TORONTO – Tim Hortons has once again proven the power of a smile, announcing a staggering $18.8 million raised through its annual Smile Cookie campaign. This year’s campaign supported over 600 charities and community groups across Canada and the United States, marking a significant milestone in the company’s ongoing commitment to philanthropy.

Axel Schwan, President of Tim Hortons, expressed gratitude to the countless guests who contributed to the campaign’s success, emphasizing the positive impact their generosity will have on communities nationwide. “We’d like to extend a huge thank you to every Tims guest who supported our annual Smile Cookie campaign this year,” said Schwan. “Through your generosity and support, we’re collectively making a big impact for more than 600 charities and community groups.”

The Smile Cookie campaign, which began in 1996 with the goal of supporting Hamilton Children’s Hospital, has since evolved into a nationwide charitable initiative. Over the years, it has raised a remarkable total of more than $129 million for various organizations, all selected by Tim Hortons restaurant owners.

This year’s campaign saw exceptional dedication from Tim Hortons restaurant owners, their team members, and volunteers, who hand-decorated millions of Smile Cookies over the course of seven days. Notably, Rhonda Pardy and Greg Crisanti, Tim Hortons restaurant owners in Dauphin, Manitoba, led the charge by selling over 43,500 Smile Cookies in their community. Their efforts, equivalent to approximately five Smile Cookies per resident, will benefit the Smilezone Foundation.

As the campaign comes to a close, Tim Hortons restaurant owners will be presenting Smile Cookie cheques to their respective charity partners in the coming weeks. This gesture further underscores the company’s commitment to supporting local communities and making a positive difference in the lives of Canadians.

As recipients of these Smile Cookie proceeds are announced in the coming weeks, it serves as a reminder of the importance of giving back and supporting those in need, especially during challenging times. Through initiatives like the Smile Cookie campaign, Tim Hortons continues to embody the spirit of generosity and compassion that defines our Greater Toronto Area community.
