Mississauga Welcomes Summer with Reopening of Spray Pads

Mississauga, Ontario – Mississauga residents, get ready to beat the heat and make a splash! The City of Mississauga has announced the reopening of all 32 of its spray pads, including the popular wading pool at Celebration Square, on Friday, May 17.

Spray pads offer a unique blend of fun, safety, and accessibility, making them an ideal summer activity for families. Unlike traditional pools, spray pads feature interactive elements like water jets, sprinklers, and themed attractions, ensuring hours of enjoyment for children of all ages.

One of the key advantages of spray pads is their safety. With no standing water, they provide a worry-free environment for parents, allowing children to cool off without the need for swimming skills. Additionally, spray pads are designed to be inclusive, catering to children of all abilities.

Aside from providing a refreshing escape from the heat, spray pads serve as vital community spaces. They encourage physical activity, socialization, and contribute to fostering a healthy urban environment.

Families can look forward to enjoying the spray pads throughout the summer, with operating hours from 9 a.m. onwards, weather permitting. The wading pool at Celebration Square will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. until Labour Day, with adjusted hours thereafter.

To ensure a smooth and enjoyable visit, residents are encouraged to plan ahead. Remember to dress appropriately, apply sunscreen, and pack essentials such as swim gear, towels, and water toys. Hydration and cleanliness are also important, so don’t forget to bring reusable water bottles and tidy up before leaving.

With spray pads conveniently located across various neighborhoods and accessible by different means of transportation, families can easily incorporate a visit into their summer plans.
