Mississauga, ON – Recreation and Parks Month (JRPM) is here, and the City of Mississauga invites residents to embrace a more active and healthier lifestyle. With this year’s theme, Community Thrives Here, the city is highlighting the importance of parks and recreational activities in enhancing physical, social, and environmental health.

From improving physical health to fostering community ties and supporting environmental sustainability, JRPM is a movement that encourages everyone to get involved and enjoy the outdoors.

What’s Happening in Mississauga this June?

Mississauga has a full slate of activities lined up to help you make the most of JRPM. Here are some highlights:

Dive into Summer at Mississauga’s Outdoor Pools

As the summer heat kicks in, Mississauga’s seven outdoor pools are the perfect places to cool off and have fun. Mark your calendars:

  • Opening Dates: Saturday, June 15 to Friday, June 30 (select swims available only in the evenings and on weekends)
  • Regular Season: Saturday, July 1 to Sunday, September 1 (timings vary by location, so be sure to check each pool’s schedule)

Join the Fun with “Let’s Play in the Park”

Starting Monday, July 2, children aged 6 to 12 can enjoy “Let’s Play in the Park,” a free, half-day, fully supervised drop-in program. Spots are available on a first-come-first-served basis, so arrive early to secure your place. Park locations are listed online, and updates will be provided throughout June.

  • Outdoor Fitness: Try a Fresh Air Fitness session at Celebration Square or Bradley Museum and enjoy your workout in the great outdoors.

    • Erindale Park: Ideal for Smallmouth Bass fishing with ample parking.
