Celebrate Canada Day in Mississauga with Music, Fun, and Fireworks!

Mississauga, ON – As Canada marks its 157th birthday and Mississauga celebrates its 50th anniversary, the city is gearing up for a spectacular Canada Day celebration. Residents and visitors are invited to don their best red and white attire and head to Celebration Square and the Living Arts Centre for a day full of festivities, live entertainment, and a stunning fireworks finale.

Exciting Entertainment and Activities

From 3 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024, Celebration Square will be buzzing with excitement. The Camp Canuck Kids Zone, bigger and better than ever, will keep children and families entertained with a 25-foot rock climbing wall, face painting, a live performance by CBC’s Jeremy and Jazzy, and Mississauga’s 50th anniversary photobooth. The main stage will feature a variety of live performances throughout the afternoon.

Evening Ceremony and Performances

The evening festivities will kick off with a ceremony featuring greetings from Mayor Carolyn Parrish, Members of Council, and special guests. The City’s new Poet Laureate, Andrea Josic, will make her debut with an original poem. Attendees are also invited to reaffirm their Canadian Citizenship with a special oath reading.

Following the ceremony, the main stage will come alive with performances from an all-Canadian lineup, including TikTok sensation Crash Adams, R’n’B powerhouse Lu Kala, and the soulful Zeina. The night will culminate in a dazzling fireworks display at 10 p.m.

  • 6 p.m. – Ceremony
  • 6:30 to 10 p.m. – Musical performances by Crash Adams, Lu Kala, and Zeina

  • Living Arts Centre (3 to 7 p.m.)

Important Information

Parking and Transportation:
Due to limited parking downtown, attendees are encouraged to carpool, walk, bike, or take MiWay. Use MiWay’s trip planner to plan your journey.

Road Closures:
Road closures will be in effect in the downtown core from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on July 1. Check the event webpage for detailed information on affected areas.

Neighbourhood Celebrations:
In addition to the main event, several neighbourhoods in Mississauga will host their own Canada Day celebrations, including:

  • Churchill Meadows
  • Malton
  • Port Credit (Paint the Town Red)
  • Streetsville

Accessibility:
Accessible mobility device charging stations and an onsite accessible viewing area will be available at Celebration Square.
