What’s Open and Closed in Toronto This Easter Long Weekend

Toronto — With the Easter long weekend approaching, the City of Toronto has released its official list of closures and adjusted operating hours for city services, facilities, and popular destinations. Residents planning their weekend activities should take note of what’s open and closed from Friday, April 18 through Monday, April 21.

🗑️ Garbage & Recycling

Garbage, recycling, and green bin collection will proceed as usual on Friday, April 18 for all daytime and nighttime routes. However, drop-off depots and transfer stations will be closed on Monday, April 21.

🏫 Community Centres & Recreation

All community recreation centres will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Regularly scheduled programming will resume Saturday and Sunday. The L’Amoreaux Tennis Centre remains open April 18 and 21, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

💳 Inquiry & Payment Counters

City Hall and all Civic Centre inquiry and payment counters will be closed Friday through Monday, reopening Tuesday, April 22.

🎨 Cultural Centres & Art Galleries

  • Open April 19–20: Cedar Ridge Creative Centre and Clark Centre for the Arts (9 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

  • Closed Friday & Monday: Both centres, Etobicoke Civic Centre Art Gallery, and Ascent Gallery

  • Assembly Hall: Open Friday, Saturday, and Monday during regular hours.

🛒 St. Lawrence Market

  • Closed: Friday, Sunday, and Monday

  • Open: Saturday, April 19 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Farmers’ Market (North Building): Saturday only, 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.

🦁 Zoos & Farms

  • Toronto Zoo: Open daily, 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

  • High Park Animal Display: Open daily, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Note: weekend road closures in the park)

  • Riverdale Farm: Open daily, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with free admission

🏝️ Toronto Island Ferry

Regular spring ferry service will operate all weekend to Ward’s Island, Centre Island, and Hanlan’s Point. Tickets and schedules are available at toronto.ca.

📚 Toronto Public Library

All library branches will be closed Friday, Sunday, and Monday. Digital services, including eBooks and streaming media, are available 24/7 at tpl.ca/downloads.

🌺 Conservatories

Allan Gardens and Centennial Park conservatories will remain open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

⛳ Golf

Toronto’s five municipal golf courses will be open all weekend. Tee times can be booked online up to seven days in advance.

🏛️ Toronto History Museums

Toronto’s museums will be closed Friday and Monday but open Saturday and Sunday for those looking to enjoy a historical outing.
