Vernon, B.C. Named 2025 SiriusXM Music Town — The Beaches to Headline Exclusive Concert
Award-winning Canadian band to perform live as SiriusXM celebrates community spirit and homegrown music
TORONTO — The City of Vernon, British Columbia, has been crowned 2025 SiriusXM Music Town, earning the honour of hosting an exclusive live concert featuring JUNO Award-winning Canadian band The Beaches, SiriusXM Canada announced today.
The national contest, which celebrates Canadian communities with exceptional local pride and passion for music, saw thousands of votes from coast to coast. Vernon emerged as the winning town for its inspiring nomination stories, strong social media engagement, and undeniable community spirit.
“Vernon is a community that thrives on connection, creativity, and celebration,” said Victor Cumming, Mayor of Vernon. “Being named the 2025 SiriusXM Music Town is a testament to our passion and spirit. We’re thrilled to welcome The Beaches to our city and look forward to this unforgettable music experience.”
A Community United by Music
Located in British Columbia’s scenic Okanagan region, Vernon is known for its lakes, hills, and outdoor recreation. The town received over a hundred nominations, with residents rallying across social media to share heartfelt stories about their love of music and their community’s connection to The Beaches.
The upcoming concert will be hosted in partnership with SiriusXM Canada, Live Nation, and the City of Vernon, with venue and ticket details to be announced soon.
