Toronto, ON— Toronto’s subterranean world is about to come alive with Tunnel Runners, a gripping new audio drama series produced by PlayME in partnership with CBC Podcasts. This seven-part thriller takes listeners on an emotional journey with Cam, a 16-year-old battling anxiety and depression, who finds refuge in the shadowy depths of Toronto’s subway tunnels.
The first episode, titled The Red Door, will debut on October 30, 2024, with new episodes released weekly. Set against the backdrop of Toronto’s underground, the story begins after Cam experiences a devastating panic attack at school, triggered by his father’s departure and his mother’s absence. In his search for solace, he stumbles upon a hidden community—the Tunnel Runners—living beneath the city streets.
