Trudeau, UK’s Starmer Discuss G7 Priorities, Support for Ukraine

Ottawa, ON – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with United Kingdom Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer on Sunday, discussing key global issues as Canada assumes the G7 Presidency.

The two leaders focused on international cooperation within the G7, particularly in addressing shared challenges. A key topic of discussion was their continued support for Ukraine, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of working toward a just and lasting peace.

Trudeau and Starmer also reaffirmed the strong ties between Canada and the UK, highlighting areas of close collaboration on mutual priorities. The leaders agreed to maintain ongoing communication as they work together on global and bilateral issues.

Canada’s G7 Presidency in 2025 positions the country at the forefront of international discussions on economic stability, security, and geopolitical concerns, including the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
