Toyota Canada Donates $100,000 to Canadian Red Cross “Time to Act” Campaign to Boost Disaster Readiness Nationwide
New partnership strengthens response and recovery efforts before, during, and after emergencies across Canada
TORONTO — Toyota Canada is deepening its commitment to community resilience with a $100,000 contribution to the Canadian Red Cross “Time to Act” campaign, a national initiative aimed at improving disaster preparedness, response, and recovery capacity across the country.
The funding will enhance the Red Cross’s ability to respond swiftly to emergencies — from extreme weather events to public health crises — by supporting key areas such as volunteer training, pre-positioning emergency supplies, deploying mobile health clinics, and long-term community recovery.
“Through this contribution, Toyota Canada is reinforcing our commitment to being there when Canadians need us most,” said Leslie Miller, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Toyota Canada. “We’re proud to deepen our work with the Canadian Red Cross, ensuring support not only in times of disaster, but in preparing communities for the challenges ahead.”
The Canadian Red Cross, part of the world’s largest humanitarian network, provides assistance during and after crises, while also helping Canadians strengthen their resilience against future disasters.
“We are grateful to Toyota Canada for its generous support that will help people impacted by emergencies,” said Amy Avis, Chief of Operations at the Canadian Red Cross. “We are seeing a rise in the number and complexity of events across the country, and the Canadian Red Cross is committed to helping people prepare for, respond to, and recover from adverse events.”
The Time to Act campaign comes at a critical time for Canada, as natural disasters — including wildfires, floods, and severe storms — continue to test the capacity of communities and emergency response systems. Corporate partnerships like this one are vital to strengthening Canada’s disaster response infrastructure and ensuring that humanitarian resources are available when and where they’re needed most.
Toyota’s long-standing relationship with the Canadian Red Cross has included support for emergency appeals, fundraising drives, and volunteer initiatives. With its latest contribution, the automaker continues its focus on social responsibility and national resilience.
