Toronto Welcomes 25 New Fire Prevention Inspectors
TORONTO – Toronto Fire Services (TFS) has officially welcomed 25 new Fire Prevention Inspectors to its Community Risk Reduction Division. Councillor Paula Fletcher (Toronto-Danforth) and Toronto Fire Chief Jim Jessop presided over a graduation ceremony celebrating the newest recruits, who will play a crucial role in fire prevention and safety enforcement across the city.
Fire Prevention Inspectors are responsible for conducting fire safety inspections, addressing violations, and ensuring compliance with the Ontario Fire Code (OFC). Their work aligns with the Fire Protection and Prevention Act (FPPA), provincial regulations, and directives from the Ontario Fire Marshal. The enforcement of the OFC is vital in reducing fire-related loss of life and property damage in Toronto.
