Toronto Offers Family-Friendly Fun for Victoria Day Long Weekend
TORONTO – The City of Toronto is offering a full lineup of family-friendly activities and attractions for residents and visitors to enjoy during the Victoria Day long weekend, running May 17 to 19.
🎆 Victoria Day Fireworks at Ashbridges Bay Park
The City’s signature fireworks display returns to Ashbridges Bay Park on Monday, May 19 at 10 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to use public transit to avoid traffic congestion.
Residents are reminded that fireworks can only be set off on private property on Victoria Day and Canada Day until 11 p.m. Fireworks in parks, beaches, or public spaces remain prohibited.
☕ CaféTO 2025 Launches This Weekend
CaféTO patios return across Toronto starting Victoria Day weekend, featuring more than 280 curb lane cafés, 550 sidewalk cafés, and 700 private patios, creating vibrant spaces to support local restaurants and bars.
🏞️ Parks, Beaches & Outdoor Fun
Toronto’s 1,500 parks and beaches will be open all weekend. Visitors are reminded that bonfires, DJ equipment, and large speakers are prohibited.
More than 140 splash and spray pads will open on Saturday, May 17, operating daily from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Municipal golf courses, Riverdale Farm, High Park Animal Display, and conservatories at Allan Gardens and Centennial Park will also be open throughout the long weekend.
🚤 Toronto Island Park
Ferries to Toronto Island Park begin their summer schedule on May 16. To avoid peak crowds, ferry passengers are encouraged to travel before 10 a.m.
Bike Share Toronto stations will also debut on the Islands with 250 bikes at four stations, offering new ways to explore.
🎨 Museums, Galleries & Markets
Visitors can enjoy free admission to Toronto History Museums, exhibitions at City-run art galleries, and shop at the St. Lawrence Market, including its Saturday Farmers Market and Sunday Vintage Market.
📚 Library & Recreation Facility Closures
Toronto Public Library branches and community recreation facilities will be closed on Sunday, May 18 and Monday, May 19. Regular programs will continue on May 17 and 18.
🚗 Travel Tips
The City encourages travellers to plan ahead, consider cycling, walking, or using TTC and Bike Share Toronto, and be mindful of road closures and parking restrictions.
