TORONTO — The City of Toronto has officially opened its volunteer recruitment campaign for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, inviting residents to be part of the global spotlight when the city hosts six matches next summer—including Canada’s highly anticipated home opener on June 12, 2026.
As one of 16 FIFA World Cup 2026™ Host Cities, Toronto is assembling a team of over 3,000 volunteers to support fan experience, accessibility, media operations, and logistics. There is no firm application deadline, but with strong interest expected, early applications are encouraged.
Volunteer eligibility is open to all residents 18 years or older at the time of application, with opportunities particularly geared toward newcomers, retirees, students, and multilingual individuals who want to be part of a once-in-a-generation event.
