Toronto Unveils Full FIFA World Cup 2026™ Match Schedule, Including Canada’s Historic Home Opener
Six matches confirmed for Toronto Stadium as Final Draw sets the stage for a landmark year in Canadian soccer
Toronto will take centre stage on the world’s biggest soccer platform in 2026, as the City of Toronto releases its full FIFA World Cup 2026™ match schedule following yesterday’s Final Draw. The schedule—now live on FIFA.com—marks a critical milestone in the lead-up to the first 104-match World Cup ever staged and the first men’s FIFA World Cup™ hosted on Canadian soil.
The City confirmed Saturday that Toronto Stadium at Exhibition Place will host six matches, beginning with a historic moment: Canada’s Men’s National Team will open its home-soil World Cup campaign on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 3 p.m. ET, facing the winner of European Playoff A (Italy, Northern Ireland, Wales or Bosnia and Herzegovina). This will be the first time Canada’s men compete in a FIFA World Cup™ match on Canadian turf.
The announcement follows the global release of the full tournament schedule, which prioritizes reduced travel demands for teams and fans while maximizing rest days and optimizing match-day conditions across the 16 Host Cities in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

According to a Deloitte Canada economic impact assessment, FIFA World Cup 2026™ events could generate up to $940 million in economic output for the Greater Toronto Area. That includes:

This makes the World Cup one of the most significant international events Toronto has ever hosted.
The City also announced that Canadian soccer legend Dwayne De Rosario will serve as an official Host City Ambassador, representing Toronto’s diverse and passionate soccer community in the lead-up to 2026.
Next Ticket Window Opens December 11
Fans will soon have another opportunity to secure seats.
The Random Selection Draw ticket phase begins Thursday, December 11 and runs until Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at FIFA.com/tickets.
Nearly two million tickets have already been purchased across previous sales rounds.
