Toronto Elections Begins Hiring Thousands of Workers for 2026 Municipal Election
Toronto election jobs are now accepting applications from residents interested in paid positions supporting the 2026 municipal election.
TORONTO — Toronto Elections has begun recruiting thousands of paid election workers to help administer the 2026 Toronto Municipal Election, with applications officially opening today.
The City is encouraging residents aged 18 and older who are legally entitled to work in Canada to apply for voting place positions that will support a fair, accessible and secure election on Monday, October 26, 2026.
Election officials say the recruitment drive is an important step in preparing for one of the city’s largest civic events, with staff needed at voting locations across Toronto.
Thousands of Paid Positions Available
Toronto Elections is seeking workers for a variety of voting place roles that will help residents cast their ballots during the municipal election.
Successful applicants will receive paid employment while gaining valuable experience in:
- Customer service
- Leadership
- Teamwork
- Problem-solving
- Election administration
Where possible, election workers will be assigned to a voting location close to their home address.

Who Can Apply?
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada
Applications can be submitted through the Toronto Elections website.
Access to Online Applications
For residents who do not have access to a computer or internet connection, the City says public resources are available at:
- Toronto Public Library branches
- Toronto Employment and Social Services locations
- Community employment hubs across the city
These locations provide internet access to help residents complete the online application process.
