TORONTO — The City of Toronto has officially launched consultations for its 2026 Budget, giving residents multiple opportunities to weigh in on spending priorities and city services.

For the third consecutive year, Torontonians can participate through an online survey—available until Friday, October 31—or by attending one of six public consultations held in-person or virtually.

The survey, available at www.toronto.ca/budget, can be completed in English, French, Chinese (simplified and traditional), Farsi, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, and Urdu.

  • Thursday, October 23, 7–9 p.m. — Scarborough Civic Centre, Rotunda (150 Borough Dr.)

Virtual Consultations

  • Monday, October 27, 12–2 p.m.

  • Wednesday, October 29, 7–9 p.m.

Residents can register to attend at www.toronto.ca/budget.

Focus on Inclusive Engagement

The City is also working with community partners to facilitate community-led consultations with Black, Indigenous, equity-deserving groups, and youth across Toronto.

“This year’s Budget consultation process is your chance to shape decisions that protect affordability, strengthen the services you need and keep on building for Toronto’s future,” said Councillor Shelley Carroll (Don Valley North), Chair of the Budget Committee.

What Happens Next

Feedback from the consultations will be summarized for the Budget Committee’s first meeting on January 8, 2026. It will inform the Mayor’s proposed 2026 Budget, scheduled for release by February 1, 2026.

The City says the consultation results will also guide ongoing financial discussions with the Province of Ontario and the Government of Canada.

More details on the 2026 Budget process can be found in the City’s Budget Process Backgrounder.
