Tim Hortons Reveals Canada’s Top Orders of 2024
TORONTO – Tim Hortons has unveiled its most popular menu items of the past year, reflecting a mix of nostalgic favourites and new offerings that resonated with Canadians. As the iconic Canadian coffee chain marked its 60th anniversary, the year saw significant milestones and memorable additions to its lineup.
To celebrate its six-decade legacy, Tims introduced four Retro Donuts in January: the Blueberry Fritter, Cinnamon Sugar Twist, Dutchie, and Walnut Crunch. Among these, the Walnut Crunch emerged as the most beloved nationwide, outselling the Dutchie in most provinces and achieving standout popularity in Atlantic Canada, where it outsold the Dutchie nearly three to one.
Meanwhile, the Apple Fritter held its title as Canada’s favourite donut overall, a position it claimed in 2023 after dethroning the Boston Cream. However, regional preferences showcased unique tastes. The Boston Cream dominated in the Maritimes, while in Quebec, the Honey Cruller, fondly nicknamed the “tractor wheel” by locals, remained the fan favourite. For Timbits lovers, the Chocolate Glazed Timbit topped the charts.
Pizza and Beverages Make Their Mark
April marked the nationwide debut of Tims Flatbread Pizzas, with Pepperoni leading as the most popular flavour, closely followed by Chicken Parmesan. In beverages, the classic Double Double™ remained the go-to coffee order, while the Iced Capp celebrated its 25th anniversary as the top cold beverage.
A July launch introduced Infusr energy beverages to the Tims menu, with Blackberry Yuzu taking the lead in popularity. Among Quenchers, the Strawberry Watermelon flavour was a customer favourite.
Breakfast offerings also saw renewed interest with the return of Omelette Bites in January, where Bacon and Cheese emerged as the preferred choice.
Special Merchandise and Charitable Contributions
The Halloween Ghost Mug was 2024’s fastest-selling merchandise item, flying off shelves both in-store and online at TimShop.ca.
Tim Hortons guests showed overwhelming support for the brand’s charitable initiatives, raising $44.1 million through programs like the Smile Cookie, Camp Day, and the Holiday Smile Cookie campaign.
Rewards and Delivery Highlights
Tims Rewards, one of Canada’s leading loyalty programs, saw coffee as the most redeemed item, reflecting Canadians’ enduring love for their caffeine fix. The most common delivery order of the year was for four coffees, further highlighting the brand’s role in fueling communities across the nation.
“2024 was a really special year for all of us at Tims as we celebrated the 60th anniversary of the brand,” said Axel Schwan, president of Tim Hortons. “We have lots of exciting plans for 2025 and can’t wait to start revealing some fun surprises for guests in the weeks and months to come.”
As Tims gears up for another year, the iconic Canadian brand promises to continue evolving while staying true to the traditions that have made it a staple for millions of Canadians.
