The Macallan Unveils New Look for Timeless Whisky Collections, Launches in Canada This Summer

TORONTO – The Macallan, one of the world’s most celebrated single malt Scotch whisky brands, has unveiled a bold new visual identity for its three signature ranges: Double Cask, Sherry Oak, and the global travel-exclusive Colour Collection.

Merging 200 years of heritage with forward-thinking design, the refreshed packaging reflects The Macallan’s continued commitment to craftsmanship, storytelling, and iconic design—while the whisky inside remains unchanged.

“The Macallan has never stood still and never will,” said Jaume Ferras, Creative Director at The Macallan. “This distinctive new identity offers a multitude of visual cues to tell our story—from the sherry seasoning to the American and European oak casks which contribute to the complex taste and flavour profiles in every bottle.”

A Design Rooted in Heritage and Innovation

Designed by legendary graphic designer David Carson, the new packaging draws inspiration from The Macallan Estate in Speyside, Scotland. Architectural elements such as the Estate’s sweeping green roof and the shape of the stills are reflected in the bottle’s silhouette and triangular label. The triangle also nods to the Sherry Triangle region in Spain—home of the sherry-seasoned oak casks that define the whisky’s flavour and natural colour.

Each bottle includes a newly added cask-type symbol on the rear label, offering insight into the flavour contributions from American and European oak. A scannable QR code allows consumers to explore tasting notes and track product authenticity using world-leading anti-counterfeit technology.

Three Collections, One Macallan Signature

The relaunch applies to all three core expressions, each offering a different interpretation of The Macallan’s signature style:

  • Double Cask Collection: A balance of American and European oak sherry casks delivering notes of fresh fruit, creamy toffee, and soft spice.

  • Sherry Oak Collection: A deep, rich profile with dried fruit and warm spice, matured exclusively in European oak.

  • Colour Collection: Led by American oak, this range highlights vibrant citrus, vanilla, and tropical fruit tones, reflecting the natural golden hues of the whisky.

The Double Cask and Sherry Oak Collections will roll out in select retailers across Canada this summer. The Colour Collection will be available exclusively through global travel retail.
