The Little Prince: A Groundbreaking Deaf-Led Theatre Experience Premieres in Toronto
Toronto, ON – This spring, Toronto audiences will embark on an extraordinary journey through the stars with The Little Prince: A Physical Theatre Adaptation, a bold and innovative production premiering at Theatre Passe Muraille from April 2 to 19, 2025. Led by acclaimed Deaf artist and storyteller Landon Krentz, this adaptation reimagines Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beloved classic through a dynamic blend of physical theatre, Visual Vernacular (VV), American Sign Language (ASL), vertical dance, and immersive projection design.
Unlike traditional stage adaptations, this production transcends spoken language, using movement and visual storytelling to bring The Little Prince’s timeless themes of love, belonging, and the human spirit to life. Audiences will follow the titular character on an interstellar adventure, encountering whimsical inhabitants while exploring profound lessons on connection and understanding.
A Visionary Artistic Approach
Landon Krentz, a Deaf artist based in Calgary, is renowned for bridging the gap between Deaf and hearing audiences through his work.
