Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl Out Now with Target Exclusives

Taylor Swift’s 12th album The Life of a Showgirl drops today with Target-exclusive vinyl and CDs, after midnight launch events drew fans nationwide.

TORONTO – The wait is over: Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, is officially out today, October 3, 2025. Fans across the U.S. lined up overnight at Target stores for exclusive vinyl and CD editions, making the release one of the year’s biggest cultural moments.

Target Exclusives Selling Fast

In addition to the standard CD and vinyl, Target is offering four exclusive products:

• Exclusive Vinyl: The Life of a Showgirl: The Crowd Is Your King edition, pressed on Summertime Spritz Pink Shimmer vinyl with gold shimmer. It comes with a custom gatefold sleeve, giant poster, a handwritten poem by Swift, unseen photos, and full album lyrics. Preorders sold out, and limited quantities hit shelves this morning.

• Three Exclusive CD Editions: It’s Beautiful, It’s Frightening, and It’s Rapturous ($14.99 each), each paired with exclusive poster artwork, album visuals, and lyric booklets.

Midnight Release Events

Select Target stores across the U.S. hosted midnight celebrations last night, drawing long lines of Swifties eager to be the first to buy the album. Tickets were distributed in advance to guarantee reservations, but limited quantities meant some fans walked away empty-handed.

Due to demand, Target set a four-per-item purchase limit for The Life of a Showgirl products.

Online and In-Store Options

While some exclusive items are already scarce, fans can still shop at Target.com and in stores starting today. Certain editions remain in-store only, including the coveted Crowd Is Your King vinyl, while others like the Sweat and Vanilla Perfume edition are available exclusively online.

Target executives describe the collaboration as more than a retail moment.
