Steelheads to Host 11th Annual Pink in the Rink Game in Support of Cancer Research

BRAMPTON, ON – On Friday, October 11, the Brampton Steelheads will host the Windsor Spitfires for their 11th annual Pink in the Rink game at the CAA Centre. This special event aims to raise funds and awareness for Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer and The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, two prominent organizations dedicated to cancer research and care.

The Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer program, recognized as the world’s largest road hockey fundraiser, unites thousands of participants each year. Their efforts raise millions for life-saving research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, one of the top five cancer research facilities globally. With the ongoing support of the community, the Princess Margaret Foundation continues to make strides in advancing world-class research and improving patient care.

Jordan Harding, Senior Manager of Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer, emphasized the value of the partnership with the Steelheads. “The Princess Margaret Road Hockey to Conquer Cancer program is grateful to partner with the Brampton Steelheads and their community of fans in support of breast cancer research at The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre,” Harding said. “Their participation with our organization played a part in helping us raise $3.17 million this year. On behalf of all of us here at The Princess Margaret, thank you.”

Before the game, the Steelheads will hold a special ceremony to honor cancer survivors and those still fighting the disease. As part of the tradition, the players will wear unique pink jerseys, which will be auctioned off on DASH to raise additional funds for cancer research.

Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear pink to show solidarity with individuals affected by cancer. Proceeds from the event will support breast cancer research and other critical initiatives at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Tickets for the game are available through the Steelheads’ official website.

The annual Pink in the Rink event has become a significant community-driven effort to raise awareness and contribute to the fight against cancer.
