SOCAN Foundation Announces Participants for 2024 TD Incubator for Creative Entrepreneurship

Toronto — The SOCAN Foundation has officially announced the participants for the sixth edition of the TD Incubator for Creative Entrepreneurship, a program designed to support emerging music creators in transforming their artistic talent into sustainable careers. This year’s cohort was selected from hundreds of submissions across Canada, reflecting the program’s growing significance in nurturing the country’s creative talent.

Supported by TD Bank Group through the TD Ready Commitment, the incubator program offers each participant a $3,000 seed funding grant, mentorship from industry professionals, and access to a series of webinars designed to sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. These resources aim to equip artists with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the competitive music industry, helping them overcome barriers and seize new opportunities.

Robyn Small, Senior Manager of Philanthropy at TD Bank Group, highlighted the importance of supporting creative communities. “At TD, we firmly believe in the connective power of music and recognize that artists across all disciplines play an important role in shaping the vibrancy of local communities. Through the TD Ready Commitment, we’re proud to support programs like the SOCAN Foundation’s TD Incubator for Creative Entrepreneurship, which fosters connections for artists and helps create opportunities for emerging talents to collaborate and grow their careers,” Small said.

Each participant will not only receive financial support but also gain invaluable insights from leaders across the music industry, including representatives from Billboard, Apple Music, Spotify, Warner, Universal, Sony, and more. The mentorship and education provided by these industry giants are designed to help participants refine their business acumen, build their brands, and navigate the complexities of the music business.
