Singing Out Brings ‘Iconique’ to Koerner Hall for Toronto Pride 2025
Toronto — Pride Month in Toronto will hit a high note on Saturday, June 7, as Singing Out, Canada’s largest 2SLGBTQQIA+ choir, takes the stage at Koerner Hall with Iconique: A Pride Celebration — a one-night-only concert honouring the voices and legacies of queer icons.
Presented as an official Toronto Pride Month event and supported by the My Piece of the City Grant, Iconique is a powerful musical tribute that blends live vocals, choreography, and accompaniment under the direction of Artistic Director Jody Malone, accompanist Beth Hanson, and assistant artistic director Jacklin Falconer.
The performance promises an electrifying lineup of anthems made famous by 2SLGBTQQIA+ trailblazers and beloved queer artists. Backed by decades of community-driven performances, Singing Out will celebrate the icons who shaped queer culture — and the community that continues to thrive because of them.
“We are thrilled to be performing at the renowned Koerner Hall,” said Malone in a statement, “Iconique is not only a celebration of the queer artists who have shaped our culture, but also a celebration of the community we’ve been a part of since 1992.”
Founded over 30 years ago, Singing Out began with a small group of courageous singers determined to build space for queer voices in Toronto’s arts landscape. From early concerts like Sex and Chocolate in 1993 to the present, the choir has grown into a symbol of pride and solidarity.
The event begins at 7:00 PM at Koerner Hall, TELUS Centre for Performance and Learning, and tickets are available now through the Royal Conservatory of Music website. With the concert already generating buzz, early ticket reservations are recommended.
