Second Cup Aims to Feed a School for a Year Through Spring Fundraiser

TORONTO — Second Cup Café is calling on Canadians to help provide a year’s worth of school breakfasts as part of its latest nationwide campaign in support of Breakfast Club of Canada. The initiative, which kicked off April 15 and runs through May 31, aims to raise $50,000—enough to nourish the students of one school every morning for an entire academic year.

Baristas at participating Second Cup locations across the country are inviting customers to contribute with a $1 or $2 donation or by rounding up their total at the register.

“No child should go to school hungry,” said Cendrine Lavigne, Marketing Director at Second Cup. “This campaign is about more than just raising funds—it’s about building a community that comes together to help nurture the potential of the next generation.”

This spring drive marks the second phase of Second Cup’s commitment to the Breakfast Club of Canada. The first campaign, held last fall, raised more than $23,000. All funds collected go directly to the organization, which currently supports more than 3,800 breakfast programs across the country.

Tommy Kulczyk, President and CEO of Breakfast Club of Canada, praised the collaboration: “We believe that helping children get the energy they need to learn is a collective responsibility, and we are truly grateful for the relationship we have built with Second Cup.”

Second Cup’s continued support could help expand the reach of the Breakfast Club’s programs, giving more children across Canada the opportunity to begin their day with a nutritious meal.
