Russell Peters Makes History with Exclusive Stand-Up Special on Patreon

TORONTO – Global comedy superstar Russell Peters is set to release his tenth stand-up special, Act Your Age Live in Abu Dhabi, exclusively on Patreon. Premiering on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. PST, Peters becomes the first comedian to debut a ticketed stand-up special on the platform, directly connecting with his fans.

Recorded during a sold-out performance at The Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, the special marks the conclusion of Peters’ Act Your Age World Tour, which entertained over 300,000 fans across 23 countries during its two-and-a-half-year run. The special showcases Peters’ signature humor, featuring anecdotes about marriage, parenthood, and middle age, along with his rapid-fire audience improv.

Hailing from Toronto, Peters has established himself as one of comedy’s elite. Named one of Rolling Stone’s 50 Best Comics of All Time, his career began in open mic nights across Canada and the UK. In 2004, his Comedy Now! special catapulted him to international fame, making him the first comedian to sell out Toronto’s Air Canada Centre in 2007.

His groundbreaking achievements include attendance records at Madison Square Garden, Sydney Opera House, and London’s O2 Arena, where he broke the UK’s comedy attendance record. He was also the first comedian to create a Netflix Original Comedy Special, with Notorious in 2013.

Peters’ accolades include Gemini, Peabody, Emmy, and Canadian Screen Awards for his work in comedy, hosting, and acting. His TV series The Indian Detective set viewership records in Canada in 2017 and gained global acclaim on Netflix.
