Ronaldinho to Headline Living Legends Match at BMO Field in Toronto

Ronaldinho Toronto BMO Field match will feature Brazil Legends vs Toronto FC Legends

TORONTO — Soccer icon Ronaldinho will headline a major exhibition match in Toronto this spring as Brazil Legends face a team of Toronto FC legends at BMO Field on May 8, 2026.

The one-night event, presented by Living Legends, will bring together several internationally recognized football stars for what organizers describe as North America’s first Living Legends match, celebrating the sport’s history and its impact in Canada ahead of the global soccer tournament arriving this summer.

Global Stars Meet Toronto Soccer Icons

The match will feature a roster of legendary players from Brazil, including Adriano, Emerson and Maicon.

They will face a lineup of Toronto FC legends led by Sebastian Giovinco alongside former club stars Jozy Altidore, Julian de Guzman and Dwayne De Rosario.

For Ronaldinho, widely considered one of the most creative players in football history, the game will mark his first time playing in Toronto.

“I’ve played in many cities around the world, but this will be my first time playing at BMO Field in Toronto,” Ronaldinho said in a statement. “I’ve heard a lot about the passion for football here, so I’m excited to experience the energy of the fans.”

A Celebration of Soccer in Canada

The event arrives at a significant moment for soccer in Canada, as Toronto prepares to host matches during this summer’s global tournament.

Living Legends co-founder Diogo Snow said the match aims to celebrate both international football culture and Toronto’s soccer community.

“Bringing Brazilian legends to this city together with Toronto FC’s legends and creating something special for the fans is what this is all about,” Snow said.

Toronto FC general manager Jason Hernandez added that the exhibition reflects the city’s growing role in the global soccer landscape.

“Hosting some of football’s most iconic figures for a memorable night at BMO Field will be an incredible event,” Hernandez said. “A match like this will be a fantastic celebration of the game for the fans who have been the heartbeat of TFC for the past 20 years.”

Tickets and Fan Experiences

Tickets for the Living Legends match will be sold through Ticketmaster, with prices starting at $45.

The ticket schedule includes:

  • March 11: Pre-sale for Toronto FC season ticket holders

  • March 12: General public ticket sales begin

Fans will also have access to premium hospitality packages, VIP meet-and-greet opportunities with players, and limited-edition merchandise, including Brazil Legends jerseys designed by Living Legends co-founder Diogo Snow.

Launching the Living Legends Series

The Toronto event will serve as the inaugural match for the Living Legends global event platform, which aims to stage exhibition matches featuring iconic football players in stadiums around the world.

Organizers say the series is designed to reconnect fans with the players and moments that shaped modern football, while creating live events that celebrate the culture of the sport across generations.

For Toronto soccer fans, the May 8 match promises a rare opportunity to see some of the game’s most recognizable figures share the field once again — this time in front of a Canadian crowd.
