Prime Minister and PEI Premier Discuss Shared Priorities Ahead of National School Food Program Announcement
Ottawa, Ontario – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with Prince Edward Island Premier Dennis King yesterday to discuss a range of shared priorities, including child care, health care, and infrastructure investments. The meeting took place ahead of the announcement of a National School Food Program in the province, signaling a collaborative approach to addressing key issues for Islanders.
During their discussions, the leaders reaffirmed their commitment to tackling affordability concerns and ensuring reliable ferry services, which are a lifeline for residents of Prince Edward Island. They also highlighted the importance of supporting the province’s vital oyster industry, with particular attention to addressing the MSX disease affecting wild oyster populations.
