Paramount+ Canada to Premiere Bold Doc THE PINK PILL This Fall

New feature from Docs for Change pulls back the curtain on the fight for female sexual health and the long-overdue journey to create a ‘Viagra for women’

BANFF, AB and TORONTO — Paramount+ Canada has announced it will be the exclusive Canadian home of THE PINK PILL, a bold new original documentary feature exploring the decades-long fight for women’s sexual health equity. The film is set to debut in fall 2025.

Billed as “a wildly entertaining romp into the world of sex and science,” THE PINK PILL dives into the overlooked story of female sexual pleasure and the uphill battle for a libido-boosting solution for women. Despite a marketplace full of FDA-approved drugs for male sexual function, the film exposes how women have been repeatedly sidelined by the male-dominated medical system.

Directed by acclaimed Montreal filmmaker Aisling Chin-Yee (No Ordinary Man, Plan B), THE PINK PILL is the first project under the new Docs for Change initiative — a collaboration between Catalyst, a Toronto-based studio for women-identifying creators, and the Knix Fund, part of the Canadian intimates brand Knix. The film was produced by Everywoman Studios, Catalyst, and Sphere Media.

“THE PINK PILL doesn’t just tell a story — it challenges perspectives, sparks conversation, and puts a spotlight on the challenges women face within the healthcare sector,” said Vanessa Case, VP of Content at Paramount+ Canada.

The film features trailblazing voices who have fought tirelessly for equity in sexual health and highlights the institutional roadblocks that persist today. It is also a testament to the growing power of female-led production, supported by companies like Knix and Catalyst that are investing in underrepresented voices.

Executive producers on the project include Julie Bristow (Catalyst), Abby Greensfelder (Everywoman Studios), Vibika Bianchi, Joanna Griffiths (Knix), and Aisling Chin-Yee.

Paramount+ continues to expand its offering of bold, socially relevant Canadian originals. THE PINK PILL is expected to make its streaming debut on Paramount+ Canada later this year.
