Oshawa Generals Triumph Over Peterborough Petes 4-2 in Hard-Fought Battle
Oshawa, ON – The Oshawa Generals emerged victorious against the Peterborough Petes with a 4-2 win at the Tribute Communities Centre on Friday. The spirited Ontario Hockey League matchup saw the Generals capitalize on a dominant second period, securing the win in front of a crowd of 4,941.
Peterborough struck first, with Brody Partridge scoring at just 1:34 in the first period. Partridge’s goal, assisted by Matthew Jenken and Blake Gowan, gave the Petes an early lead. However, Oshawa’s defense held strong for the remainder of the period, keeping the deficit to one.
The Generals stormed back in the second period, scoring three unanswered goals. Ethan Toms netted the first at 2:35, with assists from Matthew Buckley and Luca D’Amato. Just over four minutes later, Beckett Sennecke capitalized on a scoring opportunity, with Colby Barlow assisting. Late in the period, Luca Marrelli extended Oshawa’s lead to 3-1, thanks to assists from Luke Torrance and Brooks Rogowski.

Oshawa’s penalty trouble in the third period gave Peterborough an opportunity to close the gap. Jonathan Melee took advantage of a power play at 10:26, narrowing the score to 3-2 with an assist from Chase Lefebvre. Despite the Petes’ momentum, Oshawa responded with a goal by Luke Torrance at 3:08, assisted by Rogowski.
Penalties played a significant role, with Oshawa serving eight minutes on four infractions, while Peterborough only had one penalty for two minutes. Goaltender Jacob Oster earned the win for Oshawa, stopping 24 of 26 shots. Zach Bowen took the loss for Peterborough, making 32 saves.
