The Generals’ victory sets up a rematch of last year’s OHL Championship Series against the London Knights, who advanced after sweeping the Kitchener Rangers. The final series is scheduled to begin between May 7 and May 19, with dates to be confirmed.
Oshawa’s playoff run has been marked by strong performances from key players, including NHL Draft prospect Owen Griffin, who contributed two goals and an assist in Game 4, and New York Islanders prospect Calum Ritchie, who added a goal and two assists.
The Generals’ path to the finals included series victories over the Brampton Steelheads and Brantford Bulldogs, both in six games. Their sweep of the Colts marks the first time in OHL history that a team has won back-to-back Bobby Orr Trophies since the conference format was introduced in 1999.
As the Generals prepare for the championship series, fans can anticipate a competitive rematch between two of the league’s top teams.
