Generals’ Late Push Falls Short as Knights Take Game 3 in OHL Finals
London holds off furious Oshawa comeback to grab 2–1 series lead
OSHAWA — The Oshawa Generals staged a furious third-period comeback, but it wasn’t enough to erase an early deficit as the London Knights claimed a 7–5 victory in Game 3 of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Championship Series on Monday night at the Tribute Communities Centre.
The win gives London a 2–1 series lead in the best-of-seven final, putting them in control heading into a pivotal Game 4 on Tuesday night, also in Oshawa.

London’s Kasper Halttunen was the difference-maker, scoring a hat trick, while Easton Cowan added two goals and an assist. Jesse Nurmi and Jacob Julien also tallied for the Knights, who led 5–1 after 40 minutes.
Despite being outshot 36–27 and going scoreless on the power play (0-for-2), London capitalized on their opportunities and weathered a relentless third-period push from Oshawa.
The Generals, trailing by four goals entering the final frame, responded with four unanswered goals — including tallies from captain Calum Ritchie and Luca D’Amato — to close the gap to 6–5 with just over two minutes remaining.
But London’s defense held firm, and Halttunen iced the game with an empty-net goal in the dying seconds, completing his hat trick and restoring the two-goal cushion.
Oshawa finished the night 1-for-5 on the power play, unable to capitalize consistently despite extended pressure in the third.
The Knights now look to press their advantage in Game 4, while the Generals will aim to even the series before it returns to London.
