OREO and NHLPA Expand Youth Hockey Access with $400,000 “Stay Playful For All” Program
The OREO Stay Playful For All program returns for a second year, delivering equipment grants and community funding to youth hockey organizations across Canada.
TORONTO — OREO and the National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) are expanding their commitment to youth hockey in Canada, announcing the second year of the OREO Stay Playful For All program with a total of $400,000 in donations aimed at making the sport more accessible for young players.
The 2026 program will deliver $200,000 in hockey equipment grants through NHLPA Goals & Dreams, supporting 14 youth hockey organizations across the country with grants valued at $10,000 or $25,000. An additional $200,000 will be distributed through community foundations, with $100,000 each going to the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and the MLSE Foundation. Those contributions will be matched by the Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs, doubling the impact for local youth hockey programs.
The initiative brings together professional athletes from across men’s and women’s hockey, with Quinn Hughes, Zach Hyman, William Nylander, and Nick Suzuki, alongside PWHL stars Sarah Nurse and Marie-Philip Poulin, returning as program ambassadors. The players will help promote the program and encourage youth participation by sharing what “Stay Playful” means to them.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with NHLPA and NHLPA Goals & Dreams for the second year to help give more kids access to hockey,” said Sonia Bongiorno, Canada Team Lead, Partnerships and Shopper Marketing at Mondelēz Canada Inc., in a statement. “This program invests in the spirit of play by bringing more kids into the sport and supporting local communities from coast to coast.”
Building on a Strong First Year
The OREO Stay Playful For All program launched in 2025 and delivered $200,000 in equipment grants to 14 minor hockey teams nationwide. The initiative builds on the long-standing work of NHLPA Goals & Dreams, which since 1999 has donated more than $27 million in hockey equipment to grassroots programs in 45 countries.
“The NHLPA is thrilled to continue our partnership with Mondelēz Canada with the ‘OREO Stay Playful For All’ campaign,” said Devin Smith, Senior Director of Marketing and Player Marketing at the NHLPA. “Having players from both the NHL and PWHL actively involved helps inspire kids across Canada to stay playful and engaged with the game.”
