Open Farm Founders Named Canada’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 for Transforming Pet Nutrition
Open Farm founders earn the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2025 title for redefining sustainable pet nutrition in Canada.
TORONTO — Open Farm co-founders Isaac Langleben and Jacqueline Prehogan have been named Canada’s EY Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2025, recognized for reshaping the pet nutrition industry through sustainability, ethical sourcing, and transparent supply chains. The national honour was presented last night in Toronto following their regional win in October.
The pair’s win reflects a decade-long mission to challenge the status quo in pet food manufacturing. Open Farm, founded in Toronto, has grown into one of North America’s most trusted pet nutrition brands by prioritizing Certified Humane® ingredients, responsible farming partnerships, and a measurable commitment to environmental stewardship.
“Isaac and Jacqueline are proof that entrepreneurship can be a force for good,” said Rachel Rodrigues, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Canada Program Director. She noted their leadership as an example of how values-driven innovation can strengthen both industry standards and Canada’s broader economy.
From Startup Underdogs to Industry Leaders
Open Farm began as a self-funded venture anchored in a personal mission: create pet food that aligned with higher standards of welfare and sustainability. Despite warnings about steep competition in a crowded industry, the founders built their business around traceable sourcing and ethical practices—values that have now positioned the brand at the forefront of premium pet nutrition.
Today, Open Farm offers a full suite of humanely raised, sustainably fished, and climate-responsible pet products available across North America. The brand is recognized for its transparency tools, including detailed sourcing information and commitments to reducing environmental impact.
Representing Canada on the Global Stage
