Ontario Renews Support for Francophone Communities Through 2025-2026 Grants Program
TORONTO – The Ontario government has officially launched the 2025-2026 edition of the Francophone Community Grants Program (FCGP), reaffirming its commitment to the cultural and economic development of Francophone communities across the province.
The annual program, led by the Ministry of Francophone Affairs, provides funding for organizations and businesses undertaking initiatives that promote the French language, support bilingual services, and strengthen community ties. This year’s call for proposals opened April 10 and will remain open until May 26 at 5 p.m. EST.
Eligible applicants can submit projects under one of two streams: Community and Culture or Economic Development. Funding will support efforts to improve services for French-speaking Ontarians, enhance recruitment and training of bilingual staff, and promote greater understanding and celebration of Francophone heritage.

“Ontario’s Francophonie is at the heart of our provincial identity and prosperity,” said Minister of Francophone Affairs Caroline Mulroney in a statement. “The FCGP offers Francophone community organizations and businesses the opportunity to continue developing promising projects in key sectors which will strengthen the economic vitality of our French-speaking communities for years to come.”
Applicants are required to consult with a regional development advisor prior to submitting their proposals. Two virtual information sessions will be held later this month — one in French on April 22 and one in English on April 23 — with recordings made available online for broader access.
Successful applicants will be announced this summer, with project implementation expected to span 7 to 8 months and all activities to be completed by March 31, 2026. Last year, 73 projects received funding under the program.
The FCGP is one part of Ontario’s broader Francophone Economic Development Strategy, aimed at enhancing the vitality of Francophone communities through targeted investments and policy support.
