Ontario Opens Applications for $2.2 Million in Accessibility Grants
EASE Grant aims to build more inclusive and accessible public spaces across Ontario
TORONTO — Ontario is taking another step toward inclusive and barrier-free communities with a new $2.2 million investment through the Enhancing Access to Spaces for Everyone (EASE) Grant. Applications are now open for municipalities, non-profits, and Indigenous governing bodies looking to improve accessibility in public spaces and support active lifestyles for people with disabilities and older adults.
“With the launch of the EASE Grant, we are taking action to ensure more seniors and people with disabilities can participate fully in their communities,” said Raymond Cho, Minister for Seniors and Accessibility. “Under the leadership of Premier Ford, our government will continue to protect Ontario by investing in infrastructure projects that create jobs and allow people to live healthy and active lifestyles.”
The EASE Grant offers up to $60,000 per project to fund capital improvements such as:
-
Charging stations for mobility devices
-
Mobility mats at beaches
-
Accessible washroom construction at parks
These projects are designed to make outdoor and community spaces more inclusive and welcoming.
The new program consolidates and replaces the EnAbling Change Program and the Inclusive Community Grants Program, aiming for greater impact by targeting accessibility infrastructure across the province.
Applications Now Open
Eligible organizations can apply via Ontario.ca/GetFunding until August 14, 2025. To assist with the application process, the Ministry will host four webinars—offered in both English and French—on July 17 and August 6, providing guidance and support for prospective applicants.
This investment is part of a broader initiative to protect seniors and people with disabilities through programs that promote social connectedness, active lifestyles, and local accessibility. The province is also committing an additional $1 million to improve the quality of life for senior veterans and is expanding Seniors Active Living Centres (SALCs) to over 400 sites province-wide.
