Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre to Bring Modern Healthcare Facilities to the Region
Etobicoke, ON – Ontario has officially broken ground on the highly anticipated new hospital in Etobicoke, the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre, marking a monumental step forward in the region’s healthcare infrastructure. Scheduled to open its doors in late 2029, the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre represents Canada’s largest health infrastructure renewal project, spanning over 600,000 square feet. The modern nine-story patient tower will house more than 350 beds, featuring fully private rooms to ensure patient privacy and enhance infection prevention control.

Trillium Health Partners (THP), one of the largest community hospital systems in Canada, will oversee the operations of the new facility. Karli Farrow, President and CEO of Trillium Health Partners, emphasized the importance of the project in expanding healthcare services and reducing wait times. “This milestone brings us one step closer to more beds, shorter wait times, and greater specialization closer to home,” she stated.
With construction underway since February 2024, the Gilgan Family Queensway Health Centre represents a significant investment in Ontario’s healthcare sector.
