Melbourne, Australia – Lando Norris secured a thrilling victory at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix, converting pole position into a win despite unpredictable weather and multiple incidents. After leading early in wet conditions, Norris was briefly overtaken by Max Verstappen after both McLarens struggled in a late-race downpour. A final Safety Car period, caused by crashes from Gabriel Bortoleto and Liam Lawson, set up a dramatic finish. Norris held off Verstappen’s challenge to claim the win, with George Russell completing the podium. Rookie Kimi Antonelli and Williams’ Alex Albon rounded out the top five, while several other drivers, including Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz, were involved in crashes or had issues.
Despite the chaotic conditions, Norris’s steady drive and timely pit stops earned him his first win of the season, in a race that was marked by drama from start to finish.
