Toronto, ON — Toronto-based author Aviva Rubin is set to release her debut novel, WHITE, on October 1, 2024. This compelling work dives deep into the dark world of white supremacy through the eyes of a young woman determined to break free from her family’s toxic beliefs.

Raised in a white supremacist family, protagonist Sarah Cartell’s life is controlled by her grandfather’s violent ideologies. However, an unexpected friendship and guidance from the town librarian awaken Sarah to the truth about her family’s hateful beliefs. Her journey of self-discovery leads her to infiltrate a Neo-Nazi gang, posing as one of them in a risky attempt to stop a wave of hate crimes. In doing so, she unravels disturbing family secrets, ultimately leading her to a psychiatric ward. The novel raises poignant questions about whether anyone can truly escape the shadow of a hateful upbringing unscathed.
