New Canadian Musical “The Last Timbit” to Stream on Crave Starting Aug. 12

TORONTO – Following an enthusiastic reception during its limited theatrical run at Toronto’s Elgin Theatre, the new Canadian musical “The Last Timbit” will be available for streaming exclusively on Crave starting August 12. This production, a collaboration between Tim Hortons and Michael Rubinoff, the originating producer of “Come From Away,” celebrates Tim Hortons’ 60th anniversary.

Inspired by the real-life blizzard in Ontario in 2010, “The Last Timbit” tells the story of a diverse group of people stranded in a Tim Hortons restaurant, highlighting themes of family, community, and resilience.

“It was such a thrill to see ‘The Last Timbit’ come to life in front of delighted audiences in Toronto, and it was always our wish to share this special production with Canadians from coast to coast,” said Hope Bagozzi, Chief Marketing Officer for Tim Hortons. “We’re looking forward to more Canadians having the opportunity to see this heartwarming show that features some of the very best talent in the country.”

The Crave production was filmed during the show’s Toronto run and is produced by Bell Media Studios. Michael Rubinoff, who won an Olivier Award and received a Tony Award nomination for “Come From Away,” expressed his excitement: “‘The Last Timbit’ is a celebration of that community connection that will surprise and delight audiences with its heart and humour.”

The cast features notable talents such as Chilina Kennedy, Andrew Broderick, Eric Craig, DeAnn deGruijter, Sara Farb, Barbara Fulton, Kaya Kanashiro, Peter Millard, Danté Prince, Kimberly-Ann Truong, and Jake Epstein. The musical boasts music and lyrics by Anika Johnson and Britta Johnson, a book by Nick Green, and direction by Brian Hill, with choreography by Genny Sermonia and music supervision by Lynne Shankel.

In addition to its streaming release, limited-edition merchandise created in partnership with Roots is available online at TimShop. Roots, the wardrobe and merchandise partner for the production, collaborated with costume designer Kelly Wolf to curate wardrobe selections that reflect the personalities of each character.

Mark your calendars for August 12 and enjoy “The Last Timbit” on Crave with family and friends.
