Raptors Superfan Nav Bhatia Receives Honorary Degree from Humber Polytechnic

Toronto philanthropist recognized for decades of community impact and unwavering support for the Raptors

TORONTO — Nav Bhatia, internationally known as the Toronto Raptors’ “Superfan,” has been awarded an honorary degree by Humber Polytechnic during its Fall Convocation ceremony earlier this month.

Bhatia, who has achieved global recognition for never missing a Raptors home game in 30 years, was honoured for his longstanding philanthropic work and commitment to using sport as a bridge between communities.

Through the Nav Bhatia Superfan Foundation, he has supported the construction of basketball courts worldwide and funded youth programs that empower children from diverse backgrounds.

In a video message shared with graduates and families, Bhatia emphasized the importance of embracing difference. “Our differences are our superpowers,” he said, speaking to a packed audience gathered for the ceremony.

Humber Polytechnic awards honorary degrees to exceptional Canadians whose achievements inspire current and future graduates. The degree was presented by Ann Marie Vaughan, President and CEO of Humber Polytechnic.
