Mississauga Celebrates 2024–2025 MiWay Student Ambassador Winners

The City of Mississauga has announced the winners of the 2024–2025 MiWay Student Ambassador Program, a youth-focused initiative that empowers high school students to become champions for public transit.

Unveiled at the General Committee meeting on May 21, the winners are:

🥇 First Place: Rais and Tanvir, Erindale Secondary School (Ward 8)
🥈 Second Place: Harish and Kishan, Glenforest Secondary School (Ward 3)
🥉 Third Place: Mina and Yashica, St. Francis Xavier Secondary School (Ward 5)

The MiWay Student Ambassador Program offers students the opportunity to:

  • Promote MiWay services through creative campaigns

  • Learn about transit routes and rider tools

  • Attend team-building sessions with other ambassadors

  • Earn volunteer hours while developing communication and leadership skills

Student Ambassadors take on leadership roles in their schools, sharing information about transit services with their peers and creating digital content to promote MiWay. The initiative also serves as a platform for students to provide feedback that helps shape the future of local transit.

The program is open to individual students or pairs from Mississauga high schools. For more information on how to participate in future cycles, visit the MiWay Student Ambassador webpage.
