MiWay Expands Express Service to Kipling Bus Terminal Starting April 27

MiWay Route 135 Kipling extension improves transit connections between Mississauga and Toronto

Mississauga’s MiWay transit system is expanding service to better connect riders with Toronto, as Route 135 Eglinton Express will be extended to Kipling Bus Terminal beginning April 27.

The change is part of a broader set of service adjustments aimed at improving transit reliability, reducing crowding and strengthening regional connections across the Greater Toronto Area.

Direct Connection to Major Transit Hub

With the extension, Route 135 Eglinton Express will now provide a more frequent and direct link between Mississauga and Kipling Bus Terminal, a key transit hub offering connections to the TTC subway and GO Transit services.

Customers travelling back to Mississauga will be able to board Route 135 at Platform 5 (stop #9059), located on the north side of the terminal.

City officials say the move responds to growing ridership demand and feedback from customers seeking faster and more reliable connections into Toronto.

Platform Changes at Kipling Terminal

To accommodate the expanded service, several MiWay routes at Kipling Bus Terminal will shift to new platform locations. The updated layout is designed to reduce congestion and improve the overall flow of buses and passengers.

Some routes will also begin using a dedicated drop-off area as part of the redesign.

Additional Service Improvements Across the Network

Alongside the Route 135 extension, MiWay is introducing service improvements on multiple routes:

  • Weekday enhancements: Routes 3 Bloor, 5 Dixie, 28 Confederation, 70 Keaton, 71 Sheridan and 108 Financial Express
  • Sunday improvements: Route 101 Dundas Express
  • GO Transit connections: Routes 9 Rathburn and 28 Confederation at Erindale and Cooksville GO stations

MiWay noted that its network now includes 13 major corridor routes operating at frequencies of 15 minutes or better.

New Stops and Routing Adjustments

Additional changes include new bus stops along Humberwood Boulevard on Route 107 Malton Express in Toronto, responding directly to customer feedback.

Route 108 Financial Express will also see a simplified southbound afternoon routing along Financial Drive and Creditview Road, with a new stop added at Creditview Road and Derry Road.

Seasonal Adjustments for Summer

As part of seasonal service planning, MiWay will reduce service on select post-secondary routes due to lower summer demand. Routes affected include:

  • 44 Mississauga Road
  • 110A University Express
  • 126 Burnhamthorpe Express

Regular service levels are expected to resume on September 8.

Ongoing Customer Feedback Initiative

MiWay is also conducting a customer satisfaction survey from April 7 to 24 in partnership with Experience Advisors. Survey representatives will be present at terminals, bus stops and on buses, inviting riders to share feedback.

Adapting to Growth

City officials say these service changes reflect Mississauga’s continued growth and the need to adapt transit services to evolving travel patterns.

By expanding express routes and improving connections, MiWay aims to support more efficient travel both within Mississauga and across the broader GTA.
