Mississauga Summer Concert Series Returns with Free Live Music Across the City
The Mississauga Summer Concert Series will bring free live music performances to parks and public spaces across the city this summer.
MISSISSAUGA — Music lovers can once again enjoy free live performances across Mississauga this summer as the City’s popular Summer Concert Series returns with a diverse lineup of local artists and bands performing in parks and public spaces throughout the city.
Running from July 3 to September 6, the annual program will bring live music to Streetsville Village Square, Cooksville Four Corners and Port Credit Memorial Park, offering residents and visitors an opportunity to experience everything from classical and jazz to hip hop, folk, rock, country and soul music.
The family-friendly series is free to attend and aims to showcase local talent while supporting Mississauga’s growing live music sector.
Three Locations, One Summer of Music
Concerts will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings throughout the summer, with each venue featuring its own unique lineup and atmosphere.
Streetsville Village Square will host Friday evening performances from 7 to 8:30 p.m., beginning with Flotet on July 3 and concluding with Joaquin Nunez and Habana Safari on September 4.
Cooksville Four Corners will feature Saturday evening concerts from 6 to 7:30 p.m., showcasing artists including Fran Angeles, Royal Midnight Groove, KOPI Hiphop Jazz Collective and Barahmé.
Meanwhile, Port Credit Memorial Park will welcome audiences on Sunday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with performances by the Mississauga Symphony Orchestra, SHOUT! The British Invasion Band, Kendra Gabrielle and Shallum Xavier among others.
There will be no concerts on July 12, August 9 and August 30.
Supporting Local Artists and Cultural Hubs
The Summer Concert Series has become an important platform for musicians while helping activate public spaces and support local businesses in some of Mississauga’s most vibrant cultural districts.
City officials say the program creates paid performance opportunities for artists while encouraging residents to gather outdoors and connect through music.
The series is part of Mississauga’s broader efforts to strengthen its local music ecosystem through initiatives such as the Music Strategy (2022-2026), the Live Music Grant program and the City’s Future Directions 2024 Culture Plan.
Mississauga has also updated its Noise Control By-law in recent years to support more live music events in designated cultural districts.
Building on Music City Recognition
Mississauga’s investment in live music has earned recognition from the Canadian Live Music Association and Canadian Music Week, both of which have recognized the city as a Music City.
The Summer Concert Series continues to play a role in that vision by making live performances accessible to residents while creating opportunities for emerging and established artists to connect with audiences.
With concerts taking place in three accessible locations across the city, organizers hope residents will take advantage of the free programming and explore different neighbourhoods throughout the summer.
