Mississauga Steelheads Select Three Promising Prospects in 2024 OHL Priority Selection
Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Steelheads made waves during the first day of the 2024 OHL Priority Selection as they added three highly promising prospects to their roster.
With the 13th overall pick, the Steelheads selected Adam Valentini, the 2024 U16 GTHL AAA Player of the Year. Hailing from Toronto, Valentini boasts an impressive record of 31 goals and 36 assists in 32 games. Scouts have described him as a dynamic forward with exceptional skating ability and a lethal shot, making him a valuable addition to the team’s offense.

In the second round, Mississauga continued to bolster their forward lines by selecting Troy Patton from the Barrie Jr. Colts with the 34th overall pick. The 5’10” center from Mulmur Township brings a strong work ethic and scoring touch, having tallied 24 goals and 31 assists in 32 games during his OMHA U16 season.

Patton eagerly welcomed the opportunity to don the Steelheads jersey and contribute to the team’s success, echoing the sentiments of Coach Richmond, who highlighted Patton’s relentless style of play and scoring ability.
Rounding out their selections for the day, the Steelheads addressed their defensive needs by drafting Owen Cartwright with the 61st overall pick. The right-handed defenseman from Holland Landing, who played for the York Simcoe Express, is known for his strong skating and puck-moving abilities, tallying 26 assists from the blue line.
