Get Harvest Ready: Mississauga Hosting Fall Garden Care Workshops
Residents can learn to plant fall crops, save seeds, and prepare their gardens for the cooler season
MISSISSAUGA – Mississauga residents looking to extend their gardening season into the fall will have the opportunity to learn hands-on techniques at the City’s upcoming Homegrown Mississauga workshops, presented in partnership with Ecosource.
The “Fall Season Garden Care and Maintenance” workshop will run at four different community locations in September and October. Designed for beginners and those with limited gardening experience, the free program teaches participants how to plant fall crops such as garlic, properly save seeds, and prepare their gardens for colder months.
Workshop Details
Each session includes a hands-on activity where participants will save seeds from seed heads to use for planting in the spring. The program supports Mississauga’s Urban Agriculture Strategy, which aims to give residents the knowledge and skills to grow their own food close to home.
