Mississauga Encourages Residents to Rent City Facilities for Events and Celebrations

Mississauga event spaces include banquet halls, museums, community centres and outdoor venues for seasonal gatherings

MISSISSAUGA — As spring and summer event season approaches, the City of Mississauga is encouraging residents to explore its wide range of rentable public facilities for celebrations, meetings, weddings, parties and community gatherings.

The City says residents and non-residents can book a variety of City-owned venues across Mississauga, ranging from community centre rooms and sports facilities to museums, banquet halls and waterfront event spaces.

Officials say the program is designed to provide accessible and flexible venue options while helping residents host events closer to home.

A Wide Variety of Event Spaces Available

Mississauga offers rental options for both small and large events, including:

  • Community centre meeting rooms
  • Arenas for skating parties
  • Indoor turf fields for sports gatherings
  • Museums and heritage properties
  • Picnic areas and park spaces
  • Banquet halls and dining venues

The City says many facilities are equipped with tables, chairs, kitchen access, audio-visual equipment and sports setups depending on the venue.

Popular Venues Across Mississauga

Among the featured rental locations are:

  • C Banquets, located above Mississauga’s downtown core with panoramic city views
  • BraeBen Golf Course’s Highlands Dining Room, which overlooks the golf course and is used for weddings, showers and corporate functions
  • Harding Waterfront Estate along the lakefront
  • LIVE Restaurant at the Living Arts Centre
  • The Log Cabin at Bradley Museum for heritage-style gatherings

Officials say outdoor picnic areas and community rooms become especially popular during warmer months, making early booking important.

How Residents Can Book Facilities

The City offers multiple booking methods depending on the type of venue:

  • Online facility rental request forms
  • Direct booking through Active Mississauga for gyms, arenas and library rooms
  • Customer service assistance for last-minute bookings within 14 days of an event

Bookings are handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Affordable Alternative to Private Event Spaces

Mississauga says City-operated facilities can provide lower-cost alternatives to private venues while still offering professionally maintained and accessible event spaces.

The City is also emphasizing flexibility, noting that facilities can accommodate:

  • Weddings and showers
  • Corporate meetings
  • Family celebrations
  • Workshops and community events
  • Sports and recreational gatherings

As demand increases heading into spring and summer, officials are encouraging residents to review venue details and availability early to secure preferred locations.

More information about available venues and booking procedures is available through the City of Mississauga’s facility rental services.
