Mississauga Launches New Eglinton Express Bus Route to Boost Connectivity

MiWay introduces Route 135 and expands express services starting October 27

MISSISSAUGA — MiWay is set to enhance transit options across the city with the launch of the Route 135 Eglinton Express on Monday, October 27, as part of a broader service expansion aimed at improving travel times and capacity for commuters.

The new Eglinton Express will provide faster, more direct service along the Eglinton Avenue corridor between Winston Churchill Station and Renforth Station, connecting passengers to key MiWay routes, the Mississauga Transitway, and regional GO Transit services.

Route 135 Eglinton Express

Designed to ease congestion and improve connectivity, the Route 135 Eglinton Express will operate every 12 minutes during weekday peak hours — from 6 to 9 a.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. This express service will complement the existing Route 35 Eglinton, with service frequencies adjusted to provide smoother transfers and better alignment between the two routes.

By linking major employment and residential areas, the route will offer a convenient, faster travel option for those commuting across Mississauga’s east-west corridor.

More Service on Route 107 Malton Express

The city is also expanding service on one of its busiest express routes, the Route 107 Malton Express, to help alleviate overcrowding and improve reliability:

  • Weekdays: Every 15 minutes or sooner between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

  • Saturdays and Sundays: Every 20 minutes or sooner between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m.

  • New Sunday Service: Now available to better serve weekend riders.

Increased Weekday Service on Key Routes

Several local routes will also see frequency improvements to meet growing demand:

  • Route 2 Hurontario: Service increased from 11 to 10 minutes between 2 and 6:30 p.m.

  • Route 51 Tomken: Increased from 15 to 13 minutes between 1:30 and 6 p.m.

  • Route 71 Sheridan: Additional trips added during morning and afternoon rush hours.

MiWay encourages riders to plan their trips and check full schedules at miway.ca. Passengers can also contact MiWay Customer Service at 905-615-4636 for assistance.

The transit enhancements are part of the City of Mississauga’s continued investment in building a faster, more reliable, and connected public transportation network.
