Mississauga Opens Voter Registration Portal for 2026 Election
The Mississauga 2026 voters’ list portal allows eligible residents to check and update their information before Election Day.
MISSISSAUGA — Mississauga residents can now check whether they are registered to vote in the city’s 2026 municipal election, with the provincial Voter Registration Portal officially open ahead of Election Day.
Mississauga’s municipal election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026. Eligible voters will elect the mayor, their ward and regional councillor, and school board trustees for the 2026–2030 term.
Check or update voter information
Residents can use the online registration portal to:
- Confirm that their name is on the voters’ list
- Add their name if it is missing
- Update their name or address
- Verify their school-support information
Correct school-support information is important because it determines which school board trustee contest appears on a voter’s ballot.
Being registered in advance can also help election staff confirm eligibility and provide the correct ballot more efficiently when a voter arrives at a voting location.
Eligible residents who are not on the list will still be allowed to vote, but they may be required to complete additional registration steps at the voting place.
Voter notification cards coming in September
People whose names appear on the voters’ list are expected to receive voter notification cards by mail in September.
The card will indicate when and where the recipient can vote. It is not mandatory, but bringing it with acceptable identification may make the check-in process faster.
The City is encouraging residents to review their information early rather than waiting until advance voting or Election Day.
Who is eligible to vote?
A person may vote in Mississauga’s municipal election when, on Election Day, they are:
- A Canadian citizen
- At least 18 years old
- A Mississauga resident, or
- A non-resident who owns or rents property in Mississauga, or whose spouse owns or rents property in the city
Municipal voters help choose representatives responsible for local decisions involving roads, transit, parks, recreation, community programs and other city services.
