Metallica to Headline SiriusXM’s New ‘Maximum Metallica’ Channel Launch

TORONTO – SiriusXM Canada is turning the volume all the way up with the launch of Maximum Metallica, a dedicated 24/7 channel to the legendary heavy metal band. The new channel debuts Friday, August 29 on Channel 42 and the SiriusXM app, with an exclusive live concert the night before to mark the occasion.

The announcement came August 6 during Lars Ulrich’s appearance on The Howard Stern Show. To celebrate, Metallica will perform an intimate set at the Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett, NY on Thursday, August 28 — a rare chance to see the band up close, far from their usual stadium-scale stages.

A Deep Dive Into Metallica’s Legacy

Billed as “The Most Metallica Anywhere,” the channel will feature the band’s entire catalogue, from chart-topping hits to rare deep cuts, plus live performances, behind-the-scenes stories, and exclusive interviews curated by the band members themselves. Fans can also expect previously unheard recordings and special surprises.

Special Broadcasts for Fans Everywhere

The Stephen Talkhouse performance will premiere on Monday, September 1 at 12:00 p.m. ET on Maximum Metallica, with rebroadcasts throughout the week and streaming on the SiriusXM app. Howard Stern’s Howard 101 channel will air the full concert on Friday, September 5 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Free Access in September

Maximum Metallica will be available for free in all SiriusXM-equipped vehicles through September, giving non-subscribers a chance to experience the channel. Eligible new customers can also get their first three months free.

The launch continues SiriusXM’s tradition of hosting intimate, exclusive concerts at the famed Hamptons venue, which has previously welcomed Brandi Carlile, Coldplay, Dave Matthews, Ed Sheeran, Jelly Roll, The Killers, and Mumford & Sons.
