Mercedes-Benz Canada Expands Charging Access for EV Drivers with Tesla Supercharger Integration
New adapter and network expansion give Canadian drivers access to over 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across North America
MISSISSAUGA, Ont. — Canadian drivers of Mercedes-Benz battery electric vehicles (BEVs) can now charge at more than 25,000 Tesla Superchargers across Canada and the United States, marking a major step forward in electric vehicle convenience and interoperability.
Mercedes-Benz announced that the Tesla Supercharger network has officially been integrated into MB.CHARGE Public—the company’s digital charging ecosystem that already includes networks such as ChargePoint, FLO, BC Hydro, and Circuit Électrique. With this update, Mercedes-Benz BEV owners can access nearly 200,000 public charging points in North America using a single charging contract and payment system.
Easier Access for Current Drivers
To support existing customers, Mercedes-Benz Canada has released a NACS to CCS1 adapter, available now at authorized dealerships for $219.95 CAD. The adapter enables current CCS1-compatible vehicles to charge safely at Tesla Superchargers and has been tested and certified specifically for Mercedes-Benz BEVs. Some models may require a free software update performed by a Mercedes-Benz dealer.
NACS Integration Coming in 2025
Looking ahead, Mercedes-Benz will begin integrating NACS (North American Charging Standard) ports directly into its electric vehicle lineup starting in late 2025, eliminating the need for adapters on future models. This move positions the automaker among the growing list of global manufacturers adopting Tesla’s charging standard to streamline EV charging access.
Strengthening North America’s Charging Ecosystem
This collaboration strengthens Mercedes-Benz’s strategy to expand its own high-power charging network in North America. The company plans to open its first Canadian charging hubs in British Columbia by the end of 2025, equipped with both CCS and NACS connectors. The network is expected to grow to over 400 charging stalls across the continent, with additional Canadian locations planned for 2026.
Headquartered in Mississauga, Mercedes-Benz Canada oversees distribution, marketing, and customer service through 57 authorized dealerships nationwide. In 2024, the company sold 34,484 vehicles across the country, reflecting steady growth in its electric vehicle offerings.
