McHappy Day® 2025 Raises Record-Breaking $11.3M for Ronald McDonald House Charities Across Canada
Toronto — Canadians showed up in record numbers for McHappy Day® 2025, raising more than $11.3 million for Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) Canada and local children’s charities nationwide.
Hosted on May 8, this year’s event marked the 31st McHappy Day in Canada, bringing the all-time total to over $111.3 million raised since 1981. The funds will provide crucial support for families with sick and injured children, ensuring they can stay close to hospital care while receiving the comforts of home through RMHC services.
“Our franchisees are not just business leaders; they are community champions,” said Michèle Boudria, President and CEO of McDonald’s Canada. “McHappy Day is a shining example of their dedication to growing and fostering strong community connections, and the impact we can make for families with sick or injured children when we come together.”
This year’s success highlights the power of small actions turning into extraordinary impact, with proceeds from every food and beverage purchase, Happy Meals®, RMHC Cookies, and guest donations going directly to help keep families close during their child’s medical journey.
“McHappy Day is my favourite day of the year because it vividly illustrates the power of community and the life-changing impact of Canadians’ generosity,” added Kate Horton, President and CEO of RMHC Canada.
McDonald’s Canada, together with its independent franchisees, also continues to support RMHC daily through year-round programs like Round Up, RMHC Cookies, and now $1 app donations, ensuring the impact extends far beyond a single day.
